Last
night's show at The Knitting Factory was a blast. We all want to
thank each and every one of you that drove out to support us. It
means so much to us. If you enjoyed the Hollywood scene...we will
be back at the Hard Rock Cafe in February. Besides that, come see
us perform next Thursday, Jan. 8th, at Tremors in Riverside (sorry,
this one is 18+).

Thank
you to everyone who showed up to support us at our CD RELEASE
SHOW. The night was really fun. We had hoped for a larger turnout,
but are more than happy with the crowd that came. I'd say there
were around 100 people watching our set. We really appreciate
all the support you give us, we owe you! With that all said, go
request our album at any store you can so that we have some copies
on the shelves! If you don't have a CD yet, you can get them at
any store by request or online just about anywhere.

Thanks
to everyone who supported us tonight at diPiazza's in Long Beach.
Although the sound guy sucked huge monkey balls and basically made
me screw up my throat...it was fun. The venue was cool looking.
Too many chairs though...I hate when people can get comfortable,
it just isn't right. Did I mention that I hate the sound guy and
want to write bad things on his car windshield? I was glad to meet
a few new people and also see old friends. Thank you DAVO of www.lbc-radio.com
for hooking the show up. Thanks also to you crazy-cool girls who
helped us flyer LBC. You Rock! Well, that's about all I think, oh
wait...I almost forgot to mention how badly the sound guy sucked...it
was horrible.

In other news:
We played at a wedding party yesterday for this guy that Philip
works with. It was wierd at first because there were only old folks
and little kids around, but as soon as we started setting up, the
relatives started leaving and the friends started piling it. By
the time we hit our first note...it was a party! We played about
an hour and a half and ended with "Shout" just as four
police cars pulled up to kill the noise. Perfect timing! It was
a very fun night.

If
you couldn't make it out to last night's FREE show at Mugsy's...you
missed out! There were great bands, including: One Way, The Antagonists,
and Made on Malice. I was happy to see so many new faces singing and
dancing. We started playing at around 8:15pm and your friendly neighborhood
MxOxM finished the night off with a bang. What I loved most about
the night was the fact that everyone was cool...and I don't
mean cool like: "I wear my hat sideways and drive a raised
truck, I'm Cool," but cool like: "we are all
here to have a good time, and I don't care who you are or were, or
what you dress like or smell like." Thanks to Made on Malice
for setting the whole thing up. And thanks to each and everyone one
of you who came out to see us, especially if you drove a long distance!

I will
try to post some more pictures from the night soon...maybe...I think.

Last
night's show at Tremors was excellent. I'd say it was the most fun
I have ever had there. Made on Malice went on at around 10:15pm and
played a blistering set full of excitement and energy. Everyone was
rocking out in their seat. We went on at about 12:15 and played for
about an hour. I was happy to see a lot of crowd participation and
energy. I had a great time and look forward to playing there again
soon! Thanks to everyone who came out to support both bands and to
those who cared enough to watch us even though they didn't know who
we were.

Well,
I just got off work about half an hour ago and decided to update everyone
on this weekend's events. Well, we have kinda come up with this new
technique that is going to make us famous. It is based on one very
simple principle: What makes you want something most? Answer...When
you can't have it! Considering the reality of this well known fact
has led us to the immaculate conclusion that, the more shows we say
we are going to play...and then somehow get cancelled...the higher
our mass appeal will be. Soon, people will flock from all over the
world (and possibly the Universe, if all goes as planned) to watch
Grounded not play a show. We took one step closer to reaching
this goal by planning on performing at this anti-frat (which was really
just a frat in disguise) party on Friday night...and of course we
couldn't play because of the "sensitivity of the atmosphere,"
whatever that means. By next month, we will be packing the house full
of people who are dying to see Grounded perform just due to the fact
that they will probably end up not performing. On this note, I leave
you with 3 pieces of advice, 1.) Never assume that when someone asks
you to do something, that they actually want you to do it. 2.) Never
go to a party on Frat Row unless you are taller than 6 feet tall,
rich, or can pull off the wearing-the-hat-sideways look. and 3.) When
you get off of work at 2 in the morning, just go to sleep...never
post updates. (When I wake up I am going to regret writing all this.)
Oh
yeah, this morning's show at the SpeedWay was great fun...uh...yeah.

Ok,
it's time for an update. Let's see...well, the Collet park show got
shut down by the Man before we even got to take all of our stuff out
of the truck...so I guess it saved us a little bit of work, but it
was disappointing nonetheless. It would have been a fun show. Then
we played in Encino, I think it was last Saturday. There were supposed
to be 200 people there...there were not. (I think I've said something
like that before). But anyways, we still tried to give a great performance
to those few who did show. Our motto is "brick by brick,"
every person is worth 100% of our effort. But enough of the bull$#!t,
we are playing an unadvertised show this Friday, it's actually a huge
party in Orange County, it's on Frat Row for CSUF, but it's not a
Frat party, we are kinda against the whole obsession over masculinity
and the paying for friends thing. We'll probably play around 10pm
and anyone who wants to come is welcome. E-mail us for more info.

Sunday's show in Huntington Beach was great. By far the best backdrop
we have yet to play in front of. The view was awesome. The music stage
was one of the best I've heard at the CORE TOUR. Bullets-n-Octane
played right before us, I really enjoyed their set. We played our
45 minute set at 3:00pm and then stuck around for a few hours to talk
to everyone we could and pass out free CD's and run our merch booth...you
know...all the extra stuff hardworking bands have to do besides just
showing up and playing. But it was all good and fun because Fishbone
played right after us and those guys are always entertaining. We met
a lot of new people and gave hundreds of free CD's away. Hopefully
all of you who missed us can come see us play our next free show in
Riverside on the 13th!

Hello
all! GROUNDED is back from Northern California. We had a blast. There
was a very good turn out at the iMusicast. There were at least 100
people watching us play, which is really good considering the fact
that no one up there had ever heard us before. We made a lot of new
friends and fans. The folks up there really enjoy new music and care
about the scene. We gave out a bunch of stickers and free CD's so
hopefully they don't forget us! Thanks to Agent records for hooking
us up with the show and thanks to you NorCal kids for being so rad!

Hey
everyone, we are back from New York. We had an awesome time. The CORE
TOUR show at Jones Beach was a lot of fun. There were not quit as
many people as there were at the Venice Beach CORE TOUR show, but
we still made a whole lot of new friends and fans. New York is full
of really cool people and wed like to say thank you to those
of you who supported us Californians. We would also like to extend
a huge thanks to Jason Darling, our tour manager for this trip. He
showed us around town and made sure everything went very smoothly.
Jason, you rock man!
I know we just got back and all, but we are leaving you again as we
make our way up California to Oakland. We are playing a show setup
by Agent records on the 1st of August. Check out the events section
for additional information. Thanks for visiting the website and keep

Last
Saturday's show at the Showcase Theatre went very well. A lot of people
came to see us play. Unfortunately, not too many came to see the headlining
bands, which means there were not as many new ears as I was hoping
for. When all is said and done, we had a fun time, the crowd obviously
had fun, and isn't that the point? We gave away a bunch of stickers
and CD's. I better see those stickers all around town guys!
On another note, we are leaving for the CORE TOUR in New York on thursday
morning. I really hate flying too, so hopefully we don't die...that
would really suck. Anyways, keep checking back for an update from

Hi,
just letting all of you people know that we have T-shirts for sale
at all our upcoming shows for $10. Also, we just got a bunch of stickers
so get ready to stick them all over the place! We are really excited
to go to New York next week to play the Core Tour. I hope those NY
folk take kindly to our west coast punk. From what I hear our music
video for I'd Rather Not is almost done, we just need to take a couple
pictures for one of the scenes. Our plan is to include the video on
the album as an enhanced CD feature. Oh by the way the album is done,
but we ran into a predicament with the cover art idea, i wont get
into details but it shall be resolved soon. We hope to get the CD
out to all of you by this fall. We also decided to start playing more
all ages shows, recently the 21+ thing hasn't worked out so well.
Oh and Ian posted I'd Rather Not on Epitaph's Demolition section,
click the link under songs in the "Album Preview" box above.
And Thanks A Lot to our family, friends and fans, we couldn't make
it without you guys! Hope to see you at the showcase Saturday.

GROUNDED
would like to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support
us last Saturday. I was seriously amazed to see all the people who
showed up to drive to LA at 6:00 in the morning and help us with our
music video. That meant so much to us, thank you! Because of all the
help we got from you guys, this video is going to turn out really
good. I think we will add it to our album when we release it as an
enhanced CD.
We also want to thank anyone who showed up for the Core Tour show
at 3pm on that same day. It was a very fun show. We had a couple technical
difficulties, but that kind of thing happens. There were hundreds
and hundreds of people watching us play. We handed out free promo
CDs during our performance and we ended up giving out every
single one of the 1000 we started with.
An extra special thank you goes out to KEVIN CHANDLER who came back
out to LA with us the next day to be in more of the video. You are
awesome man!

Gets Thrown In Jail: 6/4/03 - Ian
Last
night's show at the DragonFly in Hollywood was far from boring. We
began our 40 minute set at about 8:15pm. Since this venue is ages
21 and over, it was hard to get many people to show up, especially
on a Tuesday night. Despite the small crowd, we had a great time on
stage. But the real excitement began after we finished up and were
about to leave. Mike and I were driving his car back around to the
front of the venue so we could load our equipment up, but just as
we were pulling over, we heard a loud blarring of a horn and bright
lights flashing through our rear window. I guess we were kinda blocking
a bus stop on Santa Monica Blvd. So Mike got a little startled and
ended up driving around the next corner to get out of the way. Normally,
this type of driving maneuver would be a great way to avoid collision
with a bus and keep traffic flowing. But Mike didn't notice that the
right turn he made was through a red light...you know the color that
means stop...especially if there are cops around. Yes, Mike went through
a red light and cut off a black and white Ford Crown Victoria. Of
course we were pulled over, and of course Mike didn't have his current
insurance in the car, and of course he was guilty of breaking the
law...but all that isn't cause for being arrested is it? No, but having
a $26,000 warrant for your arrest is! So I'm sitting in the passanger
seat and Mike is getting cuffed and thrown in the back of the police
car. Not a pretty picture. When we go to the station to bust him out,
they tell us there is nothing we can do, his bail is $26,000 for not
paying some ticket a year ago, and even if we paid it, he couldn't
leave until he saw a judge the next morning or maybe even the morning
after that. So Mike is spending a night or two in the Hollywood jail.
All I could think of were drunkos, gangbangers, and lonely transvestites
all eyeballing Mike as fresh meat (luckily he was wearing pants and
not shorts). We hung out at Matt Roberts house for a couple hours
and just as we were thinking of leaving, I get a call from Mike's
cell. "I'm out," he says. What?!?! It turns out the Long
Beach P.D. had to come pick up Mike (because the warrant was in Long
Beach) but they didn't feel like driving out to Hollywood to get him
so they just said to let him go. Thank God for lazy officers, Mike's
corn-hole will be forever grateful.

After
eight very long days of being jammed together with my stinky bandmates
in a very confined studio room, the recording is done! Well, basically.
We are going back next week to do all the mixing and to record an
acoustic song. But we have three songs all mixed and ready for the
promo CD which should be out in a couple weeks. Check out the songs
right now and tell us what you think.
Also, the CORE TOUR show is gonna be really, really, really cool!
Please mark your calendars and try to make it out. There's gonna be
skate, in-line, bmx, and other competition stuff. It's totally free
so bring your friends, it'll be a super fun afternoon in Venice beach...guaranteed.

check it out. So far, the songs sound awesome. We have the drums,
bass, and rythm guitar done for all 13 songs. The artwork is well
in progress by Tim Cochran, and the title of the album is going to
be " All-Too-Human ." It is being released under Surprise
Truck Entertainment, a record label based in Hollywood. Keep checking

Announcement!!!
Surprise Truck Entertainment will be releasing Grounded's new album
"All-Too-Human" this summer. We are going into the studio
this Thursday to begin the recording of the 14 song CD. We are all
very excited to be able to get these songs out to you guys as soon
as possible. The artwork is being done by Tim Cochran, cuz he is frigg'n
talented. The songs are being recorded at The Lincoln Lounge in Venice
Beach. So far we have had only great experiences working with this
record label...the people really are about the music scene, and it
shows.
We
hope to have the new album finished by mid-June. We are setting up
a CD RELEASE CONCERT at the SHOWCASE THEATRE which will be announced
soon. To promote the new CD, Grounded will also be touring all over
California for a couple of weeks in July. A lot is happening for us
right now, but we will try to keep everyone informed because we think
you guys have the right to know.

Thursday
night's show at TREMORS was really fun. Thanks to everyone who came
out on such short notice. Also, thank you to Tremors for providing
a place for bands to play and people to come watch for really cheap.
Tremors always treats us really good.
Friday's show at Roller City 2001 was both a lot of fun and really
depressing. First of all, thank you so much to every single person
that showed up, you guys made the night worth it. Sorry that you had
to pay so much at the door. Secondly I want to thank all the bands
because, like us, they have been bleeding themselves into their songs
even though it seems like so few really care. I was just depressed
because I AM SO SICK AND TIRED OF BEING EXPLOITED. Local bands get
used like little machines for wealthy business owners too often. The
owners of Roller City are already very rich...but that's not enough.
Before we played I asked one of the owners, named Donna, how much
she was going to pay the bands. I wasn't asking for anything special,
just a little gas money for all the bands, something to show that
they are appreciated. She kept saying that she wouldn't pay any bands
because Roller City was doing us all a favor by giving us a place
to play. So I said, "then let's just charge a couple bucks instead
of $6.50." She refused. So I asked her where all the money was
going....no answer. So let's figure this out: 300 people x $6.50 each
= $1950! Do you actually think we believe you are just helping out
the bands Donna? Seems to me you were helping out yourself. I've never
ever seen your parking lot full before in the 20 years I've lived
in Riverside. You are a greedy capitalist like so many others who
only see green and think there's nothing wrong with bettering your
own pocket books on backs of the workers. GROUNDED is never playing
at Roller City 2001 again, not because we did not get paid, but because
we are tired of seeing bands get exploited, friends and fans getting
ripped off, and previously wealthy people getting more money they
don't need. Thanks so much for doing us bands a favor, Roller Cit!
y...Enjoy you new Big Screen T.V.

so any donation (like 50 cents) would be much appreciated.

Alright,
those of you who missed our show in Palm Springs...you are quite fortunate.
It was one of the worst venues we have ever played at. Nothing was
organized, the "sound guy" took over an hour to setup even
though we were already behind schedule...and it still sounded horrible,
I was sick, everyone was tired, we sat in traffic for who knows how
long. The only good thing about the night was being able to hear our
good friends Made on Malice. By the time we played, they were the
only ones even watching us, along with a couple guys from Good vs
Evil. A big thanks to the other two "ROCKSTAR BANDS" who
had to play early so they could leave and go do whatever rockstars
do when they are not playing the keyboard, we will definitely remember
that if you ever need a favor. But seriously, thanks to MxOxM for
making the night as enjoyable as possible, and thanks to Good vs Evil
for staying long enough to hear the last bands.

Let
me start by apologizing to everyone about our website being down for
the last month. Let me fill you in on what has been happening. We
played at Mugsy's again on Oct. 25th, this time with our good friends
Made On Malice. Unfortunately, it rained that evening so we had to
cram everyone into this tiny room. But we still had a really fun time
and were pleased to see many new, as well as familiar faces. There
were probably 100 or so people in attendance. Thanx to all who showed
up despite the weather! On the next day we played at downtown Riverside's
annual Halloween Harvest Festival. It was a battle of the bands and
we were lucky enough to walk away with first place, however, the real
prize was our opportunity to share the stage with some awesome bands,
the Antagonists and One Way. Keep an eye out for these two bands!
Anyways, should be many more shows coming soon, so keep checking back.

Yesterday
we played at our old High School's homecoming carnival. We were more
than happy to donate our time to good old Norte Vista. I think it
blew all of us away to see so many new faces. Has it been that long?
Anyways, I think we got a really good response and hopefully those
new faces will become more and more familiar over time. A big thank
you to Kevin and the ANTAGONISTS for letting us play with them.

at a local coffee shop: Migzys! It was cool... it had been a long
time since we have played For an audiance. Well we have a couple shows

another lined up at Mugzies again with our old friends Made On Malice.

new songs including a cover of a classic we think you will all enjoy.
Nick's neighbor called the cops on our last practice. So if you live
next to a band... just turn the TV up and let them play!!! After hearing
MadeOnMalice's new cd and being impressed with the sound quality,
we are thinking of recording at "Studio 9." I think we are
playing at the shack next month... i donno... hopefully the showcase
(Ian and i will have to walk-in a promo kit). Anyway hope you all
had a safe 4th! Stay Cool!

Well,
I guess we have been slacking off a little bit lately. Sorry I haven't
made any entries lately. Not much has happened in the lat month. We
played at this place in Long Beach called Live Bait. It's a cool little
bar near Cal State Long Beach. Not as many people showed up as we
had hoped. We passed out about 150 free CD's with flyers and only
like 2 people that got CD's came. Maybe the place was hard to find.
In any case, we had a good time...by the way, the P.A. system we thought
had died came back to life 3 days later. What is it about three days
and ressurections?

Our
show at HOGUE BARMICHAELS last Sunday turned out better than we had
expected. We did not pre-sale very many tickets since most people
have been thinking up better excuses to turn down a good punk rock
show. Luckily the other bands brought in a lot of people. We played
at around 7:30pm for about 200 new faces and those few who we already
knew. I think we got a good response from the croud and we sold some
CDs so hopefully the night paid off. Bands we played with were Bluntside,
Cross Town Rivals, 949, and my personal favorite of the night, Unjust
Cause. Thanks to those who came to support us and those who bought
CDs. Maybe soon we will start getting paid...ha ha ha.

Tonight's
show at the CHAIN REACTION in Anaheim was one of the most fun ever.
We only had about 6 days to sell the tickets and we were surprised
that probably 60 people showed up just to see us. Thanks to all of
you who came to support us. Two of the five bands that were supposed
to have played flaked out so the Chain Reaction probably didn't get
as much money as they were hoping for...I guess that happens when
you do things for money. It's not like any of the bands were
getting paid tonight, and they/we did all the work...so basically
we all struggled just to make some guys a few extra bucks. BUT overall,
everyone had fun and we made some new friends. That's what life should
be all about. (Even if we are used as tools.)

We
unexpectedly threw together a little Punk Show at our apartment complex
on Friday night. It turned out surprisingly good for such short notice.
The night started off at 10pm in the rec room with a new band in the
area called Cedric Shoots. When Nick finally showed up at 10:30, we
were able to play. At about 11pm we got on stage and played for about
an hour for the 50-100 people who showed up on such short notice.
It was obvious that everyone had a great time. Thank You to the UV's
for letting us use the rec room. Also thanks to Mike for organizing

Tonight's
show at the CHAIN REACTION in Anaheim was a lot of fun. We went on
stage somewhere around 10pm and played our half hour set. There were
about 100 people who stayed to watch us. The night was great, however,
we did have a bit of conflict on the way to the venue earlier in the
night. We were running late and then we went the wrong direction on
the freeway and then when we thought it could get no worse, it started
pouring buckets of rain. I did what I could to cover our equipment
as we drove down the street with me in the back of Philip's pick-up,
fighting the stinging needles of rain that were flying into my face.
But after we unloaded the stuff and I got a change of clothes from
the great sound man Byron, the night began to get better. Overall,
it was another good experience and that's what this is all about.
Thanks to all of you who helped sell tickets and especially those
of you who came and supported us.

Our
weekend tour turned out fairly well for free shows that we did
no advertising for. There were not as many people as we had hoped,
but that's OK. Friday night we played in Riverside at midnight for
about 50 lucky people. Saturday afternoon we played two 25 minute
sets in Rialto, the first set starting at 12:35pm and the second starting
around 2pm. There was supposed to be 2,000 people there...there were
not. But overall, we had a fun time, no one died, music sounded good,
and we made 80 bucks on CD sales (better than nothing). A big thank
you to David Meyer for helping us out this weekend with our equipment
and the sales!

LAST
FRIDAY's party @ Celia/Tom's house turned out really good. It was
lots of fun and there was a very good size pit. We played at about
11pm with Gorgeous.
Made
on Malice played earlier at Celia's house but then the fuzz showed
up. Thanks to David for helping with the flats. A very BIG thank you
to Matt Nicholson for making two trips to Fullerton and helping us
get the stuff to the party. You're a live saver.

Ian,
Philip and Mike live in Fullerton, right by CSUF where Ian and Philip
are currently enrolled. However Mike commutes to Long Beach State,
and Nick is back home attending good old RCC. We practice every Thursday
in the rec-room here at the UVs.
