Yesterday Ian and I were walking down the street here in Tucson Arizona. As we passed a bank the temperature sign read 110 outside and that was at 5:00PM. Who actually likes living out here in this weather!? The city of Tucson has recently been updating their bar codes so two of our shows were cancelled but we made up for it by picking up a few new shows! I'm going to try and cram a few weeks events into this blog so bear with me. ::Flash back to two weeks ago:: Flagstaff is a beautiful college town with stunning views; we had a few really astounding shows up here (at 7,000 feet) and met a lot of swell people. (F.Y.I. all you single guys out there, the girl to guy ratio at NAU is 5 to 1) I think I know where I want to go to graduate school... Phoenix was even hotter than it is here in Tucson; we lucked out though and were able to stays at Janine's house (everyone : THANKS Janine). We were able to beat the heat and again had some great shows along with making more fans, furthering along our fan base. Now in Tucson we have been living the good life. The girls from the band T.O.E.S. have helped us out a lot. We are crashing at their parent's house for the time being, having the opportunity to relax in this wonderfully air-conditioned house. Last night we had a jam session till midnight in the living room. Mike and Philip have been bickering at each other (over the rules of Monopoly), but then again I guess that's what BROTHERS do when they're driven by corporate greed. The kids in Tucson seem to really dig our style so we are expecting a non-heinous turnout at tonight’s show. The events that will unfold before us are a great mystery; you could probably make a movie out of all the stuff that happens to us. I wonder what our destiny has in stored for us... only time will tell.

Tour Log 6

Well...we have come to the final stretch of our tour. I'd say yesterday's show at Universal Studios Citywalk was a suitable conclusion. Our biggest show of the tour by all means. We had a blast playing in all those shadowy clubs along the way though. We met tons of kind and interesting people. Several lessons to be remembered. The one word to describe the tour in its entirety...lucky. I am dreading our next tour, because with all of this luck we must be in for disaster.
Thanks to everyone who stopped to listen to us play, bought CDs and shirts, provided us with floors and couches, BBQ, gas money, engine repair, a room in Sac. during the peak of a heat wave, people who let us solicit them at malls and music shops, people who helped us pick up an additional show in their area, to aching laughter and double-edged confrontation, Caspar skies, care packages, laundry, breakfast, wine tasting lessons, pastries at 3 am...the list goes on and on...

Tour Log 5

We went around the mall yesterday to promote the Gaslighter show we were playing that evening.  Passing out flyers and getting people to listen to our CD on Mike's headphones (which are falling apart more and more each day...thank heavens for electrical tape).  I was surprised that a bunch (by a bunch I mean a few) people actually came to the concert.  We played first, which sucks, but there were a good amount of people there and we had fun.  Made some few friends once again.
One person we met, KC, invited us to crash at his parent's house for the night.  Very nice guy.  I guess it runs in the family 'cause today his parents BBQed us steak, corn, potatoes, salad, fruit, and all that good stuff that makes you feel royal...especially compare to PB&J.  They wanted to hear us play so we set up in the garage and KC called a bunch of his friends.  He's got some cool friends because 20-30 minutes after he called them, there was a backyard full of people.  So we jammed out a whole set and met some really nice locals.  If you are reading this...you rock!
Tomorrow we play our last out of town show at Tower Records in Concord and then we come back home.  One long stretch of asphalt and we can sleep in beds again!

Tour Log 4

Four more shows and we'll be back in our hometown area.  You better come see us when we get back!
Last night we played the longest set we ever have.  We played from 9:30-1:30am at the 1351 Lounge in St. Helena.  It was tiring to say the least. We played almost 50 songs in three different blocks.
We made friends with some cool bands at Shady Brady's and Cheers.  Check them out sometime: A Single Second, The Walking Dead, The Born Losers.
We have been busy booking shows for our South-West Fall tour.  Other than that, we are going to go see Willy Wonka tonite!  I hope it doesn't let me down cuz I have been waiting a while.

Tour Log 3

I'm sorry I could not get to a computer any sooner, but as you may know we have been very busy this month.  We are now well into the third week of our summer tour.  Since the last time I wrote, we have played 10 shows.  I think we have set a Grounded record by playing 3 shows in one 24 hour period this week.
The best part has been all the people we have met.  We have been lucky enough to cross paths with people who have been very kind and sympatheic to our goals.  Strangers have talked with us for long amounts of time, one even threw a last minute BBQ just so we could play, another couple helped us pick up an extra show in their hometown.  All these strangers are now friends who we will always remember.
Everymorning, around 9:30, the temperature of the vans rises to around 90-100 degrees, and we wake up in a pool of sweat.  However, my very kind, loving aunt and uncle who live in northern CA have provided us with a hotel room for our time in Sacramento, so we have all been able to take real showers, and sleep in an air conditioned room.  But that comfort will soon be gone.
I will try to get Mike to post a couple pictures some friends we met on the road have taken of us.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that our van started leaking oil.  Nothing serious, just about a quart every ten minutes....We just had to pull over every 20 minutes and filler up again.  We finally found a shop and a guy came out and crawled up under our bleeding security.  As he tinkered away, his legs told us that our oil pump was loose, barely hanging onto the engine.  He had never seen anything like that before, but tightened her up and we have been back to normal since!  We gave him a tip and a free CD and were on our way.
We keep meeting nice people.

Tour Logs 2

It is day 7 of our tour of California.  Last night we stayed at a friend of a friend's apartment (she's now a first hand friend) and even got to take a shower standing up!
Last time I wrote that we had some days off and were going around trying to pick up some shows.  Well, we were pretty successful.  Two nights ago we played at a little sports bar called C & J's.  There were only a few people there, but we were able to atleast make a few friends and get some practice in.  Before that, this place next to Santa Clara University called the Hut let us set up and play.  That was a great night.  We sold 10 cd's and shirts so that's some extra gas money that we otherwise wouldn't have seen.  We also meet a lot of really nice people and are playing there again tonight.
Yesterday we played at this little coffee shop named Coffee on The Patio.  In the daytime we have been going around malls, coffe shops, music stores, etc. and passing out flyers and tricking people into listening to our CD.  A few people we met along these lines actually came to our show yesterday.  You guys are cool!  Oh, and we jammed with this older guy who wanted to rock out on the harp (that's a cool way of saying a harmonica for all you not so cool people).  That was fun.
I think that is all that is new.  Philip wants all the ladies to know that we ran 3 miles this week so we are staying buff.  Also, thursday we added a show in downtown San Jose.

Tour Log 1

Well, two shows down. We had to play first at the Cave, so there weren't very many people watching, but we still had a good time. Sold a few things. Made a few new friends. The Hard Rock Cafe was good as usual. Can of Jam Productions runs a good show. None of that ticket sales crap we have all grown to hate over the years.
We left the keys turned in our van all night long on thursday nite and the battery died. One lady in the parking lot of the Safeway Grocery store we have setup camp at was nice enough to jump our RV. Then Mike left the key turned on again for the rest of the day and the battery was drained once more. Mike is a little slow at learning new tricks, he has already hit his head on the cabinets and air conditioning block several times.
We have a few nights without shows so we have been driving around looking for places to play, people to talk to, and hopefully people to come see us play. We might add a show tomorrow night at this pizza place in San Jose. Other than that it has been pretty slow. Mostly we play guitar and sing all day long. Can't complain about that. Next week will be busy though.

NEW ALBUM "REVOLUTION JUKEBOX" due for release in the FALL!!!!

Our show at the Hard Rock Cafe was quite cathartic. Live shows provide such a brilliant release from all the stresses of everyday life. It was great to see so many friends again.  We want to thank each of you who made it out to support us.  Hopefully you made it in time for the Murdocks. Make sure you check out their new album SurrenderEnder on the Surprise Truck site. I love their CD. You will too.

In other news, we are mixing the 10 recorded songs that we have been working on for the past months.  I am as excited and befuddled as a little school girl.

We just got added to a Hard Rock Cafe show with THE MURDOCKS, they are coming all the way from Texas! They are on Surprise Truck with us. We hope to make some new friends.

Posted: 1/23/05 - Mike

These past two months have been exciting. We have been working on our new album in a really nice studio with some very professional people (Lee Popa and Jeff O'Rourke). This experience has totally brought the band to the next level.

OK, sorry for being so out of touch the past month and a half, school started back up, and as you all know, some stuff gets put on the back burner (ahh! Tatum flash back! and a line in a sweet Killers song). Thanks to those who came out to the Core Tour! It was fun, as always. Our main focus with the band right now is on our song writing, we have a couple more songs almost ready to record. Check out www.RevolutionJukebox.com to se what other activist bands are up to! L8R!

I just got through setting Grounded up with a PayPal account so you can easily buy merchandise and tickets to upcoming shows. The "Merch" sub-section will be added under the "Guests" section soon. We started another song. Our practice studio will soon have climate control thanks to a stand up AC unit from Costco. PEACE!

Well, I am back from France. It was fun. While I was gone the guys played a show with our good friend Jon Andersen filling in on drums. Thanks Jon! Ian, Philip and I went to the Vans Warped Tour at Cal State Fullerton. It was great to see a bunch of awesome bands all playing the same show. My favorites where Flogging Molly, Guttermouth, Rise Against, NOFX, and Bad Religion.

Studio Progress: 2 songs recorded, 2 almost ready to record, and 4+ in the works.

Alright, so Mike is in France, and my computer crashed... so that is why our site has not been updated recently. We apologize. We are playing at All About Coffee on June 19th and Jon from Red letter Day will be filling in for Mike. We are also going to be on a compilation with a buncha Epitaph bands such as Bad Religion, Guttermouth, Tiger Army, Pennywise, and many more. Other than that, we have been in the studio writing new songs like crazy.

We were very honored to accept the award for BEST PUNK BAND at the Orange County Music Awards last night. I am trying to get the clip of our acceptance speech so I can post it up. It is 9:47 right now and we are waiting for Nick to get to our apartment so we can head out to Venice Beach. We are returning to the Lincoln Lounge to lay down a few new songs. Steve Refling, the engineer, recently added Pro Tools recording system to the studio and we are very excited to be using it. It is going to sound really good. We are recording Unwilling and Able and another song that is tenatively tittled The Lonely Crowd. We might be doing one other as well.

The Battle of the Bands yesterday was very fun. It started around 1:30 at the Off Campus Pub across the street from CSUF. There were seven bands total, including our friends Red Letter Day who played a killer set. All of the bands were very good and the competition was extremely close. But in the end, we were fortunate enough to walk away with the first place title. Thank you to everyone who came out to support us, and thanks to the Daily Titan Newspaper for throwing this successful event!

Last nights gig at the Showcase Theatre in Corona turned out really good! Thanks to everyone who came out to support us, and thanks to Hit the Switch for setting up the show! I will be adding everyone's name to the e-mail list shortly. If you haven't signed up yet, click here to join! We are playing in Fullerton next Saturday. It's a battle of the bands type thingy and starts at 1pm. Should be a bunch of good bands!

We played at a little hole-in-the-wall bar called the Anarchy Library last weekend. Not a huge crowd, real horrible P.A. system, and since it was 21 and over, we had to wait outside in the cold for two hours until we played. We did make some new friends, however, and the few people that were there seemed to really have a good time with us. Wednesday is the DiPiazza's show in Long Beach, and next thursday is our Hard Rock Cafe show. Definitely try to make it to one of these!

We got back from our weekend tour at about 4am today. The show at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo turned out really good. We got a very good response from the students there. A lot of CD's were sold and a few shirts as well. There was a much smaller crowd the next day at The Gaslighter, but we still had a great time and made some new friends. We were supposed to play at the Gaslighter again the following day, but since two of the bands dropped out, there was no crowd. Not a single person beside those in the bands. The show was cancelled and on that disappointing note we made began our punk rock homecoming.

Posted: 1/13/04 - Ian

We are going up to Northern California for a small tour. We are playing at Cal Poly S in San Luis Obispo on Thursday, and then a couple more shows up near San Jose/San Fransisco. Nick has been sick and I am starting to feel it too...hopefully we recover.

Posted: 1/9/04 - Ian

A brand new year!!! We started it off with a bang yesterday at Tremors. Last time we were kinda bummed out because the crowd was unusually small...this time there were even less people than last time. You can imagine our excitement. Nevertheless, we do want to thank those few of you were there supporting us...the same people that show up almost everytime. We appreciate it so much!
